CHALLENGE

AVCON already had a strong working relationship with this leading gastroenterological pharmaceutical company. But for this project, Salix was moving to a new space and needed to retrofit a range of conference and training rooms − 13 in all − with fluid AV functionality. AVCON’s AV experts were tapped to design and install this new, tech-rich system, harnessing both new and already purchased equipment. The client also couldn’t afford to be ‘down’ for long while the system was being installed, nor they afford any glitches after installation.

SOLUTION

Under tight time constraints and working within an existing structure, AVCON delivered an elegant, cost-effective solution – simple yet sophisticated. They engineered an integrated control system for one of the larger conference rooms that allows Salix to ‘combine/uncombine’ the functionality for one-room or two-room use. A customized dashboard was developed using an AMX wall-mount control panel to ensure ease of use by multiple users – a key requirement. All functionality – projection, audio, video conferencing – is controlled by a touch screen panel in each room. The entire system was bolstered with good connectivity, cable management, and room control systems.

And from the moment the client pressed an ‘ON’ button, everything worked seamlessly and without a single hiccup. AVCON’s partnership with Salix continues today and includes ongoing servicing and technology upgrades as the client’s needs evolve.
